في السّوق

اليَومَ يَومُ الجُمُعَة، وَأنا ذاهِبٌ إلى السّوق.

Today is Friday, and I am going to the market.

السّوقُ قَريبٌ مِن بَيتي. أَمشي عَشرَ دَقائِقَ فَقَط.

The market is close to my house. I walk only ten minutes.

أَشتَري الخُضرَواتِ أوَّلًا: طَماطِم، وَخِيار، وَبَصَل.

I buy the vegetables first: tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions.

البائِعُ رَجُلٌ طَيِّب. يَقولُ لي: «صَباحُ الخَير! كَيفَ حالُكَ اليَوم؟»

The seller is a kind man. He says to me: “Good morning! How are you today?”

أَقول: «الحَمدُ لِله، بِخَير. بِكَمْ كيلو الطَّماطِم؟»

I say: “Praise God, I'm well. How much is a kilo of tomatoes?”

يَقول: «ثَلاثُ ليرات.» أَدفَعُ وَأَقول: «شُكرًا جَزيلًا!»

He says: “Three liras.” I pay and say: “Thank you very much!”

أَرجِعُ إلى البَيتِ وَالشَّمسُ جَميلَة. أُحِبُّ يَومَ السّوق.

I go back home and the sun is beautiful. I love market day.
